2050 predictions are in...

When 2001, a space odyssey came out, it was a big deal. Years later, it's still a big deal. It broke through to audiences in a powerful way and became the sci-fi dreams of many.

In my Linked.in feed, Forbes and many others are pontificating about the future. What they are saying isn't quite as potent as the movie was for sure but writers have plenty to say about where we are going with AI alone. Did you know we can now talk to whales thanks to our artificial intelligence?

Some see only disaster on the horizon. Others see excitement and hope for all of the advances that are coming our way.

We talk about uncovering the church of tomorrow in diffuse network. Stick around in some of our dwindling denominational congregations and only hear doom and gloom. Where are the young people? What will happen to our building in 10 years? Is the community any different with the presence of the church?

Hang out with any diffuse network subscriber and find young people, diversity, new models of worship and dare I say, fun?

We held two regional gatherings this fall - one in Michigan and one in Atlanta.

Here is what we saw and heard:

  • Spiritual entrepreneurs who have a vision

  • Spiritual entrepreneurs who do not give up

  • Spiritual entrepreneurs who don't do the work for a title, nor a paycheck, nor the recognition

  • Spiritual entrepreneurs who are changing their communities - in business, in missions, in nonprofits and in community innovations

The future, in the eyes of diffuse network, looks like the Kingdom of God on display.

We are here for it!
